This is the first time that the Art Mobile has visited Avon school. The students and the teachers were both excited for the visit! Students helped me set up the art in their school lunch/multi-purpose room. After I finished setting up the exhibit, I noticed heads popping in from the hallway. Students could not believe how much art there was in the room. After our presentation, students walked through the exhibit. Most started at Stephen Glueckert’s, “Flying Pig”. One student said, “I can tell it’s made from wood because of the carving.” Another 7th grade student told me that Theodore Waddell’s “Black Angus” was her favorite. I asked why it was her favorite, she told me that it reminded her of home. She felt like she could relate to it.
