Basin is a picturesque mountain town, tucked away in a small canyon north of Butte. I pulled up and was welcomed by a town dog that followed me to the school. When I left Missoula, it was a promising warm and sunny day. When I arrived in Basin, there was three inches of fresh snow. The school house was beautiful, and I found out that it was over one hundred years old. The students were very helpful and unloaded the van with me. Their interest in the exhibit was obvious, and they could hardly contain their excitement. When we made our own artworks, the students kept asking me if they could bring their work home. I told them "of course", but they kept asking me. They couldn't believe their luck. I couldn't believe mine.
