The presentation was filled with curiosity and awe. It is pretty amazing how often the younger kids have such intuitive perceptions of the work and the artists. When I ask an adult what a work is about, they will maybe scratch the surface. A first grader can immediately see the artists intentions and are not shy to share.
For students that had never heard of printmaking, or prints for that matter, they ended up making some pretty cool work. We got our hands dirty rolling prints of our own creations. The kindergartners impressed me so much when they told me they did not need my help. It turns out they were right. Everyone walked away with some very cool, authentic prints.
Beautiful day, beautiful school, beautiful place.
