The 5th graders at Rattlesnake Elementary School in Missoula were very excited for the Art Mobile to come and visit, though they were a little disappointed when they realized I was not driving a colorful bus. They did, however, love the exhibition and making connections with the Missoula Artist and their work. Then it was their turn to be artists and they created Montana Landscape Collages, using the techniques of Jennifer Ogden, one of their neighboring artists. They really enjoyed finding all the different colors they needed in the magazines and they traded them with one another as if they were treasures. I couldn't believe it when some of the students asked if they could stay in for recess to finish their artwork. I thought recess took precedence over EVERYTHING. Their projects turned out beautiful and I had a blast working with the 5th grade class and their teacher!
