The Art Mobile of Montana is an educational art outreach program that provides access to exhibits of original, historic, ethnic, and contemporary artworks and art instruction by professional art educators for K-12 schools and community groups.
The only program of its kind in Montana, this statewide service offers interactive presentations of our curated exhibits, quality hands-on art lessons, and teacher education.
AMM educates through art about the diversity of the human experience, culture, practices, customs, and history.
AMM strengthens school programs by filling the required mandate for art as a content area and provides opportunities for youth and adults to participate together in arts-learning through and about art. The annual traveling exhibits of 20-25 contemporary Montana visual artists' works, including Native American's art, is accompanied with presentations by the artists and resources for teachers about teaching art. Artworks enhance the exposure to exemplary artworks for all ages and cultures and at any location, including the 7 Native American tribes and the Indian Reservation schools. AMM lessons satisfy Montana's State Content Standards for visual art.

ART MOBILE OF MONTANA
Parent's Letter

Dear Parents,

Your child's school will be hosting an artist residency during this school
year. During the residency your child will be attending classes taught by
Art Mobile of Montana, who will be teaching workshops in visual arts.

This artist is in residence at your school as part of the Artists in School &
Communities program at the Montana Arts Council. This program aims to
enhance and improve arts education in our state.

This will be a special experience for your child: visual arts will be explored
in a way that complements and enriches other studies, while the
students will be in contact with a working artist who will provide hands-
on, creative learning experiences.

Your input would be most useful to us as we evaluate the program.
During the visit, please ask your child about what he or she is doing and
just importantly, please let your school and us here at the Arts Council
know about your child's reactions.

You can send me an e-mail at bemclaughlin@mt.gov or a note to P. O.
Box 202201, Helena, Montana 59620-2201. We are always interested in
hearing how the arts impact someone's life.

Sincerely,

Beck McLaughlin
Education and Web Services Director
